Any adult who completes screening requirements, including a criminal history check, personal reference checks, a personal interview and initial training sessions can speak up for an abused child.
An applicant must also have a sincere interest in the welfare of children, be able to communicate with a variety of people, have some flexibility in his or her schedule, and have the time to serve as a child’s advocate. Most advocates volunteer 5 to 10 hours a month.
We welcome people from all racial and cultural backgrounds.
Become a Board Member
We currently have 10 people serving on our volunteer board of directors. We seek a diverse mix of people who are devoted to our mission of helping abused and neglected children and who also have a desire to assist our agency in being an efficient non-profit business.
Please contact our office for more information on volunteering in either of these capacities.
Make a Donation
We are a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation. All donations are tax deductible as allowed by law. Our agency does not receive funding from DCFS or the state of Illinois and must rely on donations, fundraisers and competitive grant funds to support our agency.
